Manchester United vs Spurs – Average Positions and Passing Network

  1. Spurs really targeted our left back position. Lots of overloads in that area. It’s a 2 vs 4 in our left back area.

  2. Bruno and Zirk always seem to be on top of each other. Maybe time to play Hojlund and drop one of them?

  3. This is skewed somewhat by the fact that we played the second half with 10 men, but the midfield is alarming…

  4. Ten hag never changes the formation. It’s always the same. In almost every game we’ve played the opposition have changed formation, adding more in midfield and they get rewarded… We just continue on…

  5. We can see the box structure being applied here by Man Utd but it’s not efficient. The players are all unevenly connected (or disconnected) to each other

  6. Considering Martinez’ positioning on the graph, I’m calling bullshit on Dalot’s. Dude was no where to be found on the first goal, for example.

*Also* this graph leads you to believe they were capable of making passes in the first half. That is fake news.

  7. I feel like de ja vu saying this but I’ve often felt like all I need to see is the average positions and pass map diagram to tell you whether United won or lost. Every time we’ve played well and won, our diagram has looked like the transformers logo that Tottenhams does above. Every time we’ve lost or been battered, it’s looked like the dying amoeba of ours above.
