We should have been picking up gems from that geographical region a decade ago. Ohashi went to bloody Blackburn for a pittance and is shining in that league. He could have been our Kyogo. How did Blackburn know about a meagre release clause yet we have no clue?

Hwang is an absolute machine, a regular goal-scorer in the South Korean national team and voted player of the year in the Serbian Super League, winning the cup double with Crvena Zvezda. Valued at £8.5 million. He was on the bench for Olympiacos in 2022 during the pre-season friendly at Ibrox. Feels like a major missed opportunity – what could have been. Gue-sung Cho was another player we should have gotten. Instead, we got Danilo who (although good) is injury prone and hardly played. I worry he’ll end up being another Colak situation where we get only glimpses of what he is capable of. Igamane looks to be fulfilling that No.2 Striker role but he is inexperienced. Cho won the Danish Superliga with FC Midtjylland last season. Could have been a brilliant duo.
