How are we feeling after MD2 lads?

  1. That last minute Odegaard strike to win it against Real Madrid in the finals will hit like crack!

  2. Need to pump Shakhtar for that GD and we are golden. Two very hard away games but we are in a great spot for top 8. Just need to work on that GD in the easier games

  3. Very good, was half expecting a draw against PSG. We should beat Shaktar, Ginora, Dinamo and Monaco, but of course you never know, can always be a bad performance. Inter and Sporting are a little trickier. If we perform we should be top 8.

The Girona match right before City has me a little worried. Same ownership. Worried they’re going to try to injure key players.

Apart from that, think we can take it to clubs once Martin is back.

  5. Bored and uninterested. It’s a bit of a nonsense format not much jeopardy.
Southampton on the weekend is so much bigger than PSG in the group stages

  6. Looking spicy.

People who say they hate this format mostly just hate change. Basically this format means every single game and every single goal matters.

Before you just had to worry about 3 other sides. Now you got 35 challengers. You need to get points every match day and you need to score goals to add insurance.

  7. I know it’s been mentioned a lot in commentary but I think it’s becoming more obvious that goal difference is going to be huge.

  8. Barca, Real, Bayern – major competition all standing worse. The rest of our schedule is favorable as well, Inter will be a hard match but with PSG and Atalanta we have already faced 2/3 of the major threats. I think going straight through is realistic.

  9. We need to smash Shaktar and get at least 4 pts from Inter and Sporting away. Tough fixtures them

  10. Fine. Should’ve won our first game but the comfortable enough nature of our win against PSG should give us confidence for the remaining games.

I honestly think at most you’re looking at maybe 3 or 4 sides picking up maximum points so we should still be in a good place to compete for top 8 and avoid an extra pair of matches

Feeling confident so far — Arteta’s tactics are well-suited to this longer, larger type of competition. But the playoff round is going to have *at least* one super spicy tie, getting that top eight bye is critical. Wins at home and a minimum of five points from the remaining away matches will be the aim; no small feat, but I think it will come to pass.

  12. Fine tbh – think the new format will have a lot of crazy results. Just need to get around the 15 point range I think

Need to slap Shakhtar silly in the next match day and we’ll easily move to 10th spot minimum if we do that! Then it’s slowly work your way up into the top 8 from there

  14. Can’t say I’m a big fan of the new format cause of extra matches … but seeing both Madrids and Bayern lose to lesser teams kind of proves it right.

I know we’ve never done it before and there’s lots of good teams, but I genuinely think we have as good of chance as anyone this year considering City without Rodri and how poor Madrid have looked (we all know they’ll get it figured out like they always do). Let’s make a run at it why not Arsenal?
