Pep before becoming a full time coach , he spend months in Italy , Mexico , and Argentina studying , talking , and experimenting the culture of those 3.
On a weird way , those three countries + his experience as a player with Cryuff , in Italy , and in Mexico shape his vision.
Not sure if you could find the documentary again in Youtube or around the web , but it showed that in Argentina you gotta show passion and fight for every interaction, in Italy you played organized and feel pride of your work , and in Mexico no matter who is your rival you go out to win no matter what , putting that psychology and mentality matters.
So you slap there the possession football + positional play + aggressive play and you slap the cultures of hard work , organization , good mentality , and you win a treble lol.
Oh yeah , Pep is right about Mexico being mostly Madrid and Barca. Lately it has swing more towards Madrid due to their most recent success and Chicharito playing for Madrid on 2015 , Madrid also opening their hamburger chain there (Hazard probably inspired them LOL) , and ESPN Mexico being more Madrid bias.
