[Fabrizio Biasin – /r/InterMilan Tier 2] Manchester United have been courting Simone Inzaghi for months and a phone call (via an intermediary) arrived recently too. Given that a transfer would be impossible at this time, the Inter coach confirmed that he is very happy where he is.

  1. LisbonMissile on

If only there was an opportune time approximately 8 weeks ago to try and convince Inzaghi to join, before the league starts and managers are focussed on their seasons.

Perhaps they should call it… pre-season.

  2. I actually think it’s going to be Tuchel. I don’t really know how fast before it turns sour but he’s the one who easily available and can at least assure some stability defensively.

    It’s offensively that he struggled.

  3. Its pretty clear that he wouldn’t leave Inter at the beginning of the season which many managers won’t. But in the summer maybe. He is a great manager and I would prefer him over Southgate, Potter, Tuchel and Frank

  4. He doesn’t speak English and has a great gig at Inter. Following Conte was the best possible outcome for him, they both favored similar systems and there’s not a squad nor league in Europe that’s a better fit for how Inzaghi wants to play.

He has so much goodwill built up from their European run and title win over the past couple of years that he’d honestly have to be mad to jump ship midseason. I think he’ll probably extend with them as well unless their financial issues make the situation untenable and they have to sell heavily next summer. I wouldn’t project him to be a great fit in the PL or at United anyway

  5. Would Inzaghi play style fit our players? Especially the ones that have been bought this window

I am sure INEOS will make a smart appointment and my bet is on Sebastian Hoeneß

  7. Translates too “I see there is a job opening at another big club, give me another contract please on higher wages”
