[Arteta] Kai certainly has all the qualities and he certainly has the ambition to [score 20 goals a season]. In the end, scoring goals sometimes are very small details and a lot of things have to go for you, but he’s got it and his mindset has changed a lot in regards to that.

  1. Havertz looks menacing and dangerous af which is a contrast to that pre-season from a couple years ago when the team was letting him take PKs for charity to boost his confidence. Arteta deserves more credit for getting the best out of him.

I’m curious to see what happens when Jesus is back to full fitness and ready to start. Who is going to be Arteta’s long term first choice upfront? Neither of them are exactly prolific in front of goal but they both bring different qualities to the center forward position.

I am expecting Kai to have an RVP season where everything he touches turns into a goal.

  4. He’s so much more than a striker to me though, he’s crazy smart with his movement and the plays he tried to link up. Constantly coming into space or trying to lay it off to a teammate. Would be a nightmare for any player to defend against

  5. You really can see his evolution as an Arsenal player in just a year. Back when he was being played in midfield more he was still learning how we play and how his teammates do things, and pretty much every pass he made was very simple and short like he had this mentality of being worried about small mistakes like misplacing a pass.

He was massively in his shell, he’d been abused on a daily basis by Chelsea fans for performances that were not always his fault and didn’t have a team or manager that really supported him in the way anyway player needs.

You could always see that he knew how to make runs and find space but the team needed familiarity with him in order to unlock the potential those runs actually had. And now look at him, he’s playing with a degree of confidence (although i don’t think he’s strictly a “confidence player”) and he’s creating goals, and the best part for us is that he can still improve his game and appears to be making efforts to do so.

I do think he’s going to get better and better and 20 goals this season would more than prove it.

  6. From a player who didnt like duels to a duel-eating monster

I think he is secretly transforming into player who loves to just challenge and win any player/situation in front of him
If hes in an open goal situation, he might even wait for the player to get back, beat him in a duel and score

is he not the best defending 9 on top of that as well? duels, interceptions, pressures, distance covered… would love to see data that says someone else has better output
