In Vardrid 5 out of 11 goals are rigged penaltes

Fucking hell, Man City have Haaland-depencia.
One injury on him and they are out of the EPL title race

I’m not a big fan of thinking in terms of attacking tridents. You have ten outfield players, and all of them are important in both attack and defence. Forwards can defend in numerous ways, from tracking back to pressing the back line to cutting passing lanes, and when they fail to do this, the defence suffers (Real Madrid’s game against Lille showed this excellently). Similarly, if there’s not a strong ball-playing defender, you struggle to break that forward line’s press, and attacking opportunities dry up pretty quickly.
If Barca hadn’t been scoring so freely this season, where would we put our energy in terms of thinking? Would we say that a new forward was needed? Another midfielder or a wing-back? It’s cool to see that the front three are firing on all cylinders, of course, but at least to me, abstractions like this doesn’t help me understand or learn the *why*.
