Footballers don't know about business. Businessmen don't hire football people and pay them millions and then do their job themselves. Even the CEO doesn't do it. It's left to the people that make the long-term football decisions. The CEO and CFO probably has an input but people are in place to make these kind of decisions.

Man U has definitely not progressed under Ten Hag. In addition Ten Hag is puzzlingly allowed to recruit so many players who from Ajax and/or Dutch who are average to below average talent-wise.
