Jamie Gittens isnāt a starter. Idk if I said this here or in my head but I was wrong. Not sure what it is or if heās not ready for the full course of the game but I was wrong, obviously no oneās giving it 100% throughout the course of the game, you let the game come to you, but coming off the bench he provides such a spark that we couldāve used today. Really didnāt matter against Celtic because that was Karims moment. But today he was on a milk carton. I mean this could reactionary so Iāll give him 2 more games but. We need that spark off the bench again that he provided.

It might be easier to dribble past and score when he comes on as substitute against tired defenders
This is not that wild of a take.
Watching him and he has to improve his decision making heavily. Everytime he gets the ball, he has the urge to dribble at least one opponent. There is no fast, simple pass from him that is going to one of the other attackers. Cannot even remember he passed to Guirassy once in the last games…
Of course in case he comes off the bench he plays against players that have already 70+ mins played. In this case his dribbling is a much bigger threat. I get it and also people that say yeah he is at least trying and taking responsibility by going into another dribble. But there has to be a much healthier middle way. Watching his current playstyle is just agonizing
Our goal came from him making a move into the heart of the defense. He lost the ball but it put the defense under pressure and Ryerson found the space out wide as a result.
If we don’t have the confidence to ride with our young talented winger then I’m not sure what we do have.
Hes trying too hard to be the best player on the field
Most of the time it looks like he wants to be the guy to dribble past 3-4 players, but he doesnt really have a plan on what to do afterwards
He just dribbles to dribble
I agree. Heās not a good decision maker. Turns the ball over at a very high rate.
Heās a developing player and IMO heās taking feedback and improving. Sahin is working with him and improving his decision making, several times he cut it, it wasnāt there and he released another player with a pass. I think we all love him but recognize heās got room for improvement, and i think heās aware.
I think the left wing is really tough to play at because he gets no support, Ryerson isnāt a leftback so he is less comfortable in the attack and never overlaps, also Brandt is always straying off from the right, this is why he always get double teamed and is forced to pass back
He was better than Beier today, and unless you want Sabitzer as a winger again, I think him and Malen wouldāve been my choices to start today, but maybe he wasnāt 100% recovered from his sickness. Duranville and Adeyemi are out injured, so Gittens is the only real option.
Might be hot take but even this gitten isnāt very good, still more effective than Malen on wings
