Wish him a speedy recovery, but unfortunately, not to sound like a pessimist, I think this might be Carvajal’s career done at the very top level. His season is basically over now with him tearing his ACL. He will be 33 years old when he returns, especially post ACL playing in a very physically demanding position. I love him and appreciate him, but I think it’s time we go into the market looking for a replacement for the future, not just a temporary solution.

And when the body in charge of football (FIFA, UEFA) is not there to protect you and refs are letting everyone tackle our players while booking them mercilessly for complaining about these tackles – this is the result.

I sincerely hope Dani Carvajal makes a swift and complete recovery. He is undoubtedly one of the most undervalued right backs in the history of football. While I believe that unlike Courtois, Dani Carvajal’s time as a main player may be coming to an end, he could potentially return mid next season at the age of 33. In my opinion, he could still serve as the second-choice right back, but we would need to acquire a new world-class right back.
