Premier league clubs debt to owners in light of new PL rulings

  1. I know I know you’ll never sing that etc etc. But as I understand it part of the ruling from the city vs PL Court case is that these interest free loans from owners to clubs are unlawful. And tbh rightly so, as much as i dislike city it seems mad you can claim sponsorship deals are unfair yet completely write off £100m interest free loans to your own owners. 

     The upshot looks like they will have to be included in PSR accounting which would massively affect clubs spending and/or  even result in points penalties. Luckily good old Danny Boy doesn’t go in for that sort of thing.

  3. What’s fucked is the fact city don’t have any shareholder loans due to being able to inject money directly through their own companies. It’s smart but it’s such an entitled move for them to now bring this up when they’d have had to do this if the sponsorships were rejected initially.
