**Manchester United have not made an approach to Thomas Tuchel with Erik ten Hag on a brief holiday while the club’s executive committee meet in London to discuss next steps.**
**Ten Hag,** as is usual during the international break along with players not representing their countries, **has taken a few days off to recharge and is expecting to still be in charge at Old Trafford at the end of the international break.**
**He is under the impression that he retains the backing of the club’s hierarchy** ahead of their summit and has not been informed any differently.
**Tuchel**, who United progressed the furthest with in the summer in regard to possibly replacing Ten Hag during a strategic review, **has not received any formal communication yet to take over at Old Trafford.**
Discussions with him had reached the stage of negotiating financials before it broke down and United decided they already had the best available manager in position.

Can’t see them sacking him if he’s left the country. They won’t sack him over the phone.

This ownership upsetting me.
They missed a good chance to sign Hansi Flick this summer.
Now Tuchel too.
I mean these guys paying 50m+ for these crap players with extra bonus too.
So why they can’t convince mangers like that?

What manager tells the media they expect to get sacked?
DaveShadow on
All the articles we’re getting seem to be what Ten Hag thinks, which is not the same as whats happening.
Previous managers have openly talked about being told the day before they were sacked they would be 100% safe. Means jack shit until we get a version of the headline that isn’t just Ten Hag’s hopes.

They spent 60 million on a shit signing like Ugarte but are balking at spending 15 to sack the worst manager we’ve had at United (apart from Ralf lol) in the last 50 years.

Sacking ETH now will make INEOS look like clowns after that manager saga at the end of last season. Probably the only reason why they stick with him now.

Feels like Ten Hag PR are briefing everyone so that if he’s sacked it’ll be spun as he was led to believe he was backed by the club only to be stabbed in the back as they bowed to fan pressure or some shite.
Just wield the axe already.

I doubt any managers would be approached while we still have a manager in the position. This summer was the only exception since Ineos just got in charge and was assessing the club on all levels.

This is really a tricky situation to deal with, there’s no one on the market now, Jose and Poch are both in jobs now and Mckenna obviously is with Ipswich after INEOS chose Ten Hag.
I can’t really see what option they have other than to stick with Ten Hag

I’d bet once he gets sacked it won’t take 15 minutes for him to start badmouthing the club. He doesn’t even want to be here anymore.

It’s good that we’ve football people running the club. The Glazers would always sack a manager when the noise became too loud. I think Ineos will be more level-headed, take a more logical approach. They understand that there isn’t a quick fix to our issues.

If Thomas Tuchel, wasn’t hired in the summer why would they hire him now?

ETH caught Sir Jim in a compromising position, imagine Bayern, Barca, City, Real sticking with a manager who finished 8th last season and is currently 14th after spending 600m !

Every manager is safe until they’re not, to be fair. Could take one bad meeting between him and management, or hopefully one more bad result.

At this point I’m willing to write off the season if it’s because the right manager will only join us at the end of the season.

Not firing him now is such a big mistake. Our next few fixtures are very tough, lose all of them and our situation is even worse.
Brentford, Fenerbahce, West Ham, Chelsea… At least November looks easier fixture wise.
Narwhal1986 on
He’ll last until end of the month. This is my prediction. Fired just before or immediately after the Leicester game in league cup on 30th October.
Shite performances against Brentford, Fenerbache & Westham will be the end.

All that matters is what the board decide
