Pedro Porro on Real Madrid links: “Of course I’m proud with these links, it means I’m doing things well. If that happens one day, it happens. Now I’m fully focused on my club, Tottenham.”

As much as a lot of people don’t want to accept it… Real Madrid and Barcelona are the two biggest clubs on the planet… Any footballer would love to be linked with either.

Completely normal comment and take. As long as he’s focused on us and does his job I don’t really care.
He’s the norm. The real outliers are the ones like Sonny who’ve stuck with us through thick and thin

Is Madrid that much better than London? 🙄😔

I can deal with losing Romero( for a good amount of money ) but I would really be gutted to lose porro. One of our most consistent players and one of the most creative right backs I’ve ever seen

These were the clean up comments to an interview he gave with Spanish press (I think). But of course he wants to go to RM, any player would, especially a Spanish one. I wouldn’t expect anything different. He’s one of my favorites, though, and I’ll admit it stung a bit especially in light of Sunday’s loss.

I honestly don’t mind if we sell Porro. He’d destroy in Spain in a Marcelo-like role. But he often gets exposed defensively in the Prem, as with the first Brighton goal. His contribution in attack is great but we’d need it far less without the goals his lack of physicality cost us.
If you look at Arsenal and City, both have phased out all their smaller fullbacks in favour of absolute units who are capable CBs as well. Gvardiol, White, Timber, Calafiori, Ake, Walker etc. That’s a major part of why their defences are so much less flimsy than ours.
Great player and great guy, but not essential to our success like Micky. When the time comes, I’ll be excited about who plays RB for us next.

jeez, we´re not looking good at the moment are we?

Even Liverpool are experiencing this same story with Trent Alexander Arnold and the Real Madrid pull. And he’s an English player who’s spent his entire career in England.
If Madrid comes knocking practically every player will listen. Just the way it is

Twerking it for Madrid
Do we lose Porro and Cuti in the same window?
Perfect response
Calma, they will go for Trent.
