In the first 2 games of the season, the lineup looked more or less like this, and we did not allow Frankfurt/Bremen almost any chances. This was without Guirassy.
Since we switched to 4-4-2 and conceded 11 goals in 4 games.
wllwsssss on
every game would be 0-0

You say go back, but Sahin never played a proper 3atb this season. The first matches were a hybrid 3atb with Schlotterbeck LB and Ryerson pushing high. Needless to say it never worked yet he stubbornly kept playing it until the 5-1 loss in Stuttgart. Now he’s playing a 4231 but we lack fullbacks (Couto is a wingback)
The solution is the formation you posted, though I would turn Adeyemi into a LWB. Also no Can in midfield, please.

I feel like with an extra CB we might be able to put Groß in Cans position and play Sabitzer as a 6/8 instead

on paper not the worst idea, but it’ll be impossible to play most games like this for the rest of the season having only one single guy (Bensebaini) as realistic backup option for 3 positions
not feasible with the ever increasing number of games
using this formation sparingly against certain opponents could work though, but not sure given that constantly changing formations could lead to just adding fuel to the inconsistency fire we have right now

We could but there is no depth at cb lol

Not the worst idea if another CB was in the squad besides the ones in the lineup

This but take out can and sabi instead
4-2-3-1.
Just go back to what we always play.
Ion think we got the talent or depth to go 3CBs
