From reading the comments here, I can’t be the only one who thinks that he was told “You resign and save face or we will sack you”?
This happens all the time in business and football is no different. They would of course pay the rest of his contract and a nice encouragement bonus.
Firing someone has the hassle of paperwork and red tape and potential recourse of legal action.
