If we’re being honest I think it’s very likely he goes to Madrid. There’s been very little to suggest he’s staying.

  2. It’s gonna take 350k a week to get him to sign and I imagine letting Salah go. I say it’s worth it. Please don’t go 🙁

  3. Do Madrid offer much cover for their fullbacks? I wonder how he’d get on there, with their fans and expectations, if left exposed defensively.

  4. I think people in the sub who are constantly negative about the clubs decisions need to stop resigning themselves to him (or the other two) leaving.

Look at it critically – all contracts impact each other. Madrid are ramping up speculation given Dani Carvajal’s injury, the stories around Mbappe and their poor start to the season.

I don’t want the club to do a Man United or Arsenal and give massive contracts to either aging players (Alexis, Ozil, Auba) or to a player who doesn’t score the goals (De Gea at 350k a week anyone??).

The players have said they want to stay. We just have to trust Mikey Edwards and Richard Hughes to sort it out. I’m sure they will.

  5. I fear that the writing’s on the wall here. If Trent goes, he’ll fall very far in my estimation to be honest, akin to McManaman.

I don’t understand the people in here who say they’re happy for him to add to his trophy cabinet elsewhere – I couldn’t give a shite what he does if he leaves.

Imagine signing someone like TAA, a player of his level and rep for -absolutely free-

IF he does decide to go for it, I bet he made up his mind a very long time ago. There’s no way we haven’t tried absolutely everything, and still probably haven’t given up, 77 days before he can sign for a different club

He said recently that he doesn’t want to be known as a player who only won titles at the start of his career, he obviously want to go farm CL and La Liga. The PL is really tough to win

I’ve made Sydney Sweeney a priority target within my list of options

    Wish me luck!

  8. If he really wants to go to RM there’s nothing we can do about it I guess, but to go on a *free* when the player is worth a LOT of money is ridiculous. If he really wants to go to RM he could at least sign a contract so they need to pay.

  9. Hope it goes well because if you miss backpost headers for that club, prepare for the racial abuse

  10. Madrid feel like an enemy now with our recent history with them. Not to mention they already signed 2 of our best academy players for a combined total of £8 million.

  11. Of course they’ll make him a priority, getting another unicorn on a free would be a no brainer. Call me naive but I’m fully confident he’ll stay

If he wants to go then adieu.. I supported this club long before he came along and I’ll support it long after he’s gone, God willing.. No one is bigger than the club.

  13. “Also looking for a centre back” Good job Virgil is tied down ey, wouldn’t want to lose two players for free…

  14. I can’t believe the amount of people in here already wanting him gone and canning him a rat.

He himself has not said anything, all we have heard from his camp is that Liverpool is the priority, and his team mate who is in the same position recently said that he hasn’t heard anything about a new contract from the club.

All the noise is coming from Madrid’s side.

Why can’t we wait and see what happens instead of start slagging off a player and help force him from the club.

  15. I really like Trent, and I get the allure of Madrid. But if he goes after they’ve beaten us x amount of times and saying last year about the ‘it means more’, this will feel like a Kevin Durant to Warriors-esque move.

Alright if he’s not signing a contract then sell in Jan to at least get something for him!

I’m very tired of Real Madrid. Spoiled club and even more tired of losing to them. I hope Trent doesn’t leave. I’d be very disappointed and frustrated

  18. Well our club has refused to offer him a contract till now, so I won’t blame him for wtv decision he makes. It’s on us

Maybe Trent’s camp is using all this Real Madrid talk as leverage for the club to actually offer him 300K-350K a week. That’d be a lot of money for a RB, but at the same time Trent would make more as a Liverpool player than anywhere else – due to the Scouser, academy product, club legend, future captain reasons – so maybe there is that?

FWIW – Davies would be on 240K a week if he signs with Madrid

  20. How the tables have turned. We used to think that having Trent would attract Jude Bellingham to join us, looks like it is going to happen the other way round.

Not signing Jude when we had the chance is coming back to bite.

  21. Honestly, id be gutted if he leaves. He is undoubtedly in position to take the armband for the next generation of players.

  22. I actually fucking hate Real Madrid with a passion.

Not even just because of this potentially happening, just fucking straight hate.

Big club targets big player. Tell us something we don’t know.

Wonder what all the doomsayers will say if he signs a new contract with us.

  24. All Trent has to do is look at how Kaka’s career went when he moved go Madrid. Got out of form and was replaced and discarded. That’s Ballon D’or winner Kaka replaced and forgotten about (at least by Madrid fans).
