Welcome back to *The Lab*, we’re talking about a topic that’s on every Tottenham Hotspur fan’s mind: the prospect of Daniel Levy selling a 25% stake in the club to a potential Qatari investor.

We sit down with Dan White, a Consultant in Asset Management, to discuss what would this deal mean for the future of Spurs? Could it be a stepping stone toward a full takeover, or is it just a strategic partnership to help the club compete at the highest level financially?

We’ll explore the power and influence a minority stake can have, and what this could mean for the club’s day-to-day operations, from transfer spending to long-term branding strategies.

With Qatari investors already involved in European football through Paris Saint-Germain, could we see a global shift in Tottenham’s appeal? And how might this investment line up with Financial Fair Play regulations?

I love The Lab. This episode is particularly insightful. It’s a great podcast that gives time and space for deeper dives into topical specifics of spurs. I appreciate not every spurs fan needs or wants that. But for me, it’s exactly the kind of spurs content I’m looking for. I hope you continue with it and over time it gets more and more access to more and more specialists. Really appreciate it flav.

  3. Thanks for this great listen, rumours are heating up online all week…

ITKs saying it’s a 12.5% stake, take that with a pinch of salt

These pods really are a healthy counter to the reactive simplistic side of football fandom. It’s never as simple as it seems. This doesn’t mean wE gEt CaSh fOr pLaYeRs like so much of spurs twitter would make you feel.

  5. I am out of the game if oil money comes in.

It’s not even about the oil – it’s just there’s something so disgustingly empty about the whole thing. You seen these rich oil kids? Sitting around in their mansions pranking their friends by putting a tiger in their bedroom while they’re sleeping. They don’t care, it’s just sportwashing + some rich folks playing silly games against their other rich friends because they’re bored of playing Risk. It’s like FantasyPL for the ultra wealthy. There’s no passion, it’s a silly little game for them.

At least most owners have some profit incentive, or a psychological need to control shit and do well, or even sentimental incentive, the English owners, and even the private equity bastards won’t just trash the club because they got bored and don’t understand the value of money after being born into an oil empire. They gotta at least exit leaving things in the same or better shape than when they bought it because they want their money back.

Plus the last thing I want the club to be is as despised and not respected as City. I mean we haven’t won anything but at least people know we got here legitimately.
