Supporting Belgium at the world cup and being in the stadium the moment the final whistle against Croatia was blown, I was gobsmacked. I could simply not believe that Belgium were out at the group stage, still brings back horrible memories.

  2. I’ve not seen a single Belgian actually be angry at Lukaku for this (as a Belgian myself). We all understood his situation and have massive respect for him.

    Keep strong, big Rom.

That golden generation window is closed and Martinez should shoulder most of the blame for squandering it. But I have little sympathy for Lukaku. His inability to acknowledge his weaknesses off the ball coupled with his blaming epl clubs will forever be my picture of him. Plenty of players struggle with the overall speed and physicality of the epl, but for him to say that his success in serie a somehow vindicates him, just goes to show his myopic self absorption and lack of class.
