Watched the highlights, well if that was it we are FCKUD GOOD AND PROPER. It's the old boys club all over again. Southgate's greatest talent is turning a great batch of talented players into boring players. Playing players out of position and then playing Henderson and Maguire? Give me a break. People saying look at his record? Yeah a record of bottling it. But let us be honest a bleeding chimp could pick just as good an England side with the talent available. The FA like 'YES' men as manager and Southgate with all his political views is certainly one of them.
I remember Southgate saying says he won't be afraid of dropping players out of form and only pick players who are in form and deserve a chance, yeah right. He is picking players who have hardly played against players who play week in and out. Why isn't he giving other players a chance in the squad? If the time comes and say Southgate gets England in a position to win something at some point he will have to rely on other players and if those players have had little play time then there is always the problem on something going wrong, Southgate is one of the best for that.

The previous golden generation played in a far stronger era of international teams. Whats so frustrating about now is its a weak era especially in Europe, and we keep wasting golden opportunities because Southgate is nowhere near good enough.

I agreed with much of what you said, except not sure about when you mentioned brilliant wins. If you are referring to beating Italy as a brilliant as Southgate likes to claim and by which he likes to measure his yard stick for progress, you are both going to get the shock of your lives when a proper big team faces England. That Italy team was toothless in attack and would not have got past the quarter finals of the competition the old Italy team beat England in the final. This new Italy team may not even have got past the last sixteen depending on the strength of the draw and I'm not even confident they make the next Euros if it comes down to the final game against Ukraine. We will have to be far better than we played against what is the worst Italy team I have ever witnessed we beat twice if we are to win a competition and I do not think Southgate realises that and won't until we get knocked out in the quarter finals like we did in the World Cup which with this team is my prediction. That's harsh on Gallagher he has been incredible this season the issues I have is picking Henderson Maguire one plays in Saudi and the other Muppet is 6th choice at an average club he brought on Palmer and kept foden on the right and Palmer played left that is not his position sterling deserved a call up also Southgate is a fraud
We desperately need to test out new centre backs and goalies, to at least give them experience in case they're needed at tournaments. Yet we keep choosing Maguire and Pickford against teams like Malta..
I myself have consistently cussed out Southgate for the shortcomings of this team, but let's actually blame the people that deserve it. The FA. They consistently hire crap managers who are yes men. We need an independent body who can hold the FA to account. How they have got away with this for so many years is staggering!! This current England team should have two major trophies by now in the Euros and world cup, the squad is good enough, the manager isnt. Sound familiar?!!!
