In the 2012/13 season Peterborough were relegated with 54 points. Given how the table stands at the moment I thought I should just remind everybody.

Forgot we came bottom, such a horrible season, i think we spanked 5 nil by wolves who came 2nd bottom too,

  2. Weirdly this is one of my favourite seasons as a Posh fan. We were pretty awful for the first half of the season and looked dead and buried at Christmas – it was very much “if we lose our next game it’s all over”. And then we kept getting results and ended up staying up until about 10 mins to go in the final game of the season.

  3. Didn’t realise Roger Johnson captained Wolves got that many points, it was diabolical season for them

Points distribution is the key. In this season, Cardiff won with 87, Hull second on 79. Both comfortably below the benchmark of 2pts/game to win the league. Hence, more points spread around the division and multiple teams going down on 50+.

Previous time a team won it with a lower points tally was 07-08 WBA (81pts) and Leicester went down in 22nd with 52.

So just based on current ppg, sure we have a number of teams in grave danger but above 1ppg, we also have four teams above 2ppg and on course to finish between 90-100pts. So I’d expect things to fall back to a more ‘normal’ 46-49pt relegation figure, marginally above 1ppg where it is now.

But it’s the Champ, I already feel this prediction will look silly in a few weeks’ time. Lord knows what will happen.

We got 96 points last season and didn’t go up automatically. I’m assuming the football gods are pissing themselves at the thought of us getting 56 points this season and still going down. Their only issue is us getting 56 points I reckon, gonna have to really toy with us for the next few months.

  6. We started the season with Derek McInnes in charge and ended with Sean O’Driscoll, not exactly inspiring

Is this when Huddersfield and Barnsley had a big Yorkshire love-in on the final day?

  8. Hudds were playing Barnsley on the final game of that season. They were drawing and literally just passed it sideways for the last 2 mins once it was confirmed that Posh had lost.

  9. Does anyone have a table for 35 games of that season to see how the league looked then compared to todays 😂 I can’t believe swans were four clear last Saturday morning and win back to back for first time in ages and still only four clear but beat Watford midweek and we could be top half 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️😂

  10. Come on City, you know you want that Bristol derby fixture back in the calendar!

Thanks for the reminder that we once played worse than we are currently 😅

there was only 2 games on the final day that were dead rubber iirc, the start of the championship is the best league aura

  13. man leeds were shite for a long, long time and I say that as a leeds fan for 55 years now.

Horrid season as a City fan. Started off beating Palace and Cardiff 4-1 and 4-2, respectively, then proceeded to absolutely sink.

On top of that my marriage disintegrated around December 2012, so all around a right shite year 😂

    2014/15 was a tonic though 😁
