Coventry head of recruitment Dean Austin considering legal action after private WhatsApp messages were photographed at yesterday’s Watford game (their next opponents) and published on social media

  1. Are they really private though if you’re openly texting at a football match in public. Not really the best idea? Always bound to have someone looking over your shoulder.

  2. Oooop, I’ll put my hand up and say I thought they looked fake. Egg on my face it seems.

Does anyone know the actual legal ramifications? I get he was in public but would it be an actual case for breach of privacy?

This is a classic case of the Streisand effect – if they’d said nothing no one would have believed it was true. This has just confirmed what most doubted was real!

Hilarious! I just assumed they were fake. Seems like it would have been better to say nothing. Plus, there’s nothing really in the messages is there? They just implicitly implied that they thought Watford were shit, as do most people.

  5. WhatsApp has been getting some excellent free publicity over the last few weeks!

  6. Love all the Reddit detectives on here last night who kept saying this was fake. Who on earth would bother to fake something like that?

No way. That wasn’t fake? Totally thought that was shooped. Madness.

The Gaffer uses emojis. Not quite sure how I feel about that one.

I’m just really disappointed to learn that Mark Robins uses emojis. Shatters the illusion slightly.

We aren’t very good so I’m not sure it’ll matter, but this has the potential to motivate the players more than Ismael ever possibly can.
