Stoke are really setting themselves nicely for an utter collapse aren’t they

Webber is an absolute prick by all accounts

  2. If I ignore the prem years at Norwich, he did an decent job in the beginning. But how much was it Farke and his coaching team. Tough to say.

He made some good Signings, Pukki, Sara, Buendia but also wasted money in the prem.

Also his comments about Women’s football and overall media wasn’t good.

Personally I think Webber views himself better than he is. You need self confidence of course but his is borderline if not over arrogance

  3. If he’s learned any humility, he could be excellent.

He performed miracles here in his first couple of years, but was admittedly fortunate to have some high value assets to sell in order to fund a much needed squad makeover and turn things around.

I’m probably in the minority that believed he also performed sensibly in the first PL season, investing in the structure of the club and training ground, rather than the squad. In the long term, that’ll be key.

After that, it all went completely wrong, and he managed to alienate the fans, embarrass himself with misguided comments about our women’s team, waste tens of millions on crap players who were obviously not what we needed and didn’t fit our system whatsoever, stabbed Farke in the back in an effort to maintain his reputation, and then got his follow up appointment horrendously wrong with Dean Smith.

He could be a great appointment for Stoke, as long as there’s someone at the club to keep his ego in check and to tactfully remind him to keep his mouth shut when it moves too fast for his brain to keep up.

  4. Did some great work at Town with bringing Wagner in and that great 16/17 transfer window. But always got the impression he was difficult to work with behind the scenes.

The timing of him leaving in the build up to the playoffs was quite strange. You’d think if it was happy families behind the scenes that you’d wait to see the outome of the promotion push before deciding to move on.
