  1. Right, so the EFL had to admit they fucked up and went beyond their jurisdiction when it comes to us a couple weeks ago already. To me this just seems incredibly petty and vengeful to now impose a transfer embargo on us because we showed them up in court.

We’ve still got until June 30th to make sales and balance the accounts, should we stay down.

  2. A battle on two fronts. Let’s see how this plays out.

Actually, just dock them 30 points now and call it a day.

Will be very interesting to see what happens with points deductions. If the EFL have put Leicester under embargo, that means that they’ve broken EFL rules too? But then usually a club gets points deducted in the same season as the breach is confirmed.

Bald manager, financial crimes and lawsuits to avoid punishment for them. The man cityification of the championship is complete.

  5. In response I suggest they replace them with another team if they gain promotion.

From a totally zero bias viewpoint, personally I think it should be a team that plays in red and white and has a similar name to Wonderland.

  6. Quite a large thing to do – while I know it’s in the clubs interest to do I wouldn’t imagine they’d do this without legal counsel suggesting it.

Intrigued to see where it goes. By definition we have broke the rules due our own mismanagement and poor decision making. Watch this space I guess.

    My understanding.

Leicester spent the parachute payment on servicing a loan taken out to cover additional costs incurred in trying to finish 4th in the Premiership.

They now can’t balance the books with losses exceeding the rules in either league, but are arguing that neither set of rules apply to them.

Meanwhile Leeds have trimmed their sails and kept within the rules, but may lose out on promotion to Leicester.

  9. That’s a Reddit post title I didn’t think I’d see. Things really have gone to pot.

Wonder what the next helping hand in my slow slide back into the depths of depression and addiction will be. This last month has been brutal. The thing that was giving me my only source of happiness has been ebbing away. Dunno what to do. Probably won’t post on reddit again.

Horrible club. Won’t ever forget when they went into admin with thirty million pounds worth of debt they screwed small businesses, the company who built their stadium and even the ambulance service over. They deserve everything they get.

  12. “While LCFC would prefer the proceedings to be in public, so its supporters and the wider world can be informed about the important issues of football governance that will be considered, the relevant rules require that these proceedings are conducted confidentially, and LCFC will therefore not be able to comment further about them at this stage.”

So you guys DO understand how rules work! I think they’ve learnt a valuable lesson here everyone.

  13. What does an EFL transfer embargo do if Leicester are promoted? What a baffling punishment.

  14. “The Club is committed to ensure that any charges against it are properly and proportionately determined, in accordance with the applicable rules, by the right bodies, and at the right time.”

The only thing the club is committed to is delaying the inevitable punishment to next season with prolonged legal bs.
