So now Stevenage don’t have a manager called Steve any more. The sudden loss of nominative determinism makes me sad.

This might be the first time I’ve ever wanted a team managed by Steve Evans to win a match.

Him again? Rotherham are winning the league next season then.

They’ve brought back a really polarising figure back. The guy left the first time due to a spat with our chairman’s son over expenses, so I hope at least they can be civil again.
Some wanted him back, some loathe him, and most (if not all) other fans hate him, however you cannot deny him, he works wonders on tight budgets. Getting Stevenage to 9th in League 1 is remarkable really, especially as they’re above some bigger teams like Charlton, Wigan, Reading.
The main thing about this season has been the lack of care and effort from the players, like they show no signs of passion at all, and then Leam’s press interviews after games was the same, just lethargic, boring tropes. Evans will give the lads an electric bolt up the backside and kick into touch the ego’s that have been allowed to run rampent amongst the dressing room this season.
We might not like it, but it’s exactly what we need again right now and for next season.

Is it really too much to ask for a young and upcoming German u19s coach from the Regionalliga who’ll inexplicably be the next Klopp?

The management situation this season has been bizarre to say the least.
Started the season with Taylor as manager, who was then sacked with a statement from the club saying a change had to made early in order to give ourselves the best chance of staying up, despite the fact we didn’t actually have someone lined up to replace him. Then our owner goes on holiday and does an interview on his return stating we hadn’t began looking for a new manager yet as he’d been away. Then, after being publicly turned down by a series of managers after they had their interviews (so they were interested enough in the job to apply and interview, but then must have discovered things they didn’t like) we appointed Leam Richardson as a head coach, with our head of recruitment promoted to DoF despite an awful summer window. The reason given for the structure change was that MT had too much of his time and mind space taken up by off the field matters so they wanted to offload that burden to someone else – but in that case why sack MT before giving him some help?
Later, after a series of horrific results and performances, the board came out and said that actually Leam was brought in to rebuild and lead us in league 1 and that this season was a write off anyway, contradicting what was said when Taylor was sacked. But then Leam was sacked before even finishing the season and Steve Evans was appointed immediately as *manager* I.e. the structure change was reversed before it had a chance to make any sort of difference.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not upset to see the back of Richardson-ball, and we had some great times under Evans’ leadership in the past, but it all seems very strange.
