In 14/15, Sky Bet ran a Transfer Fund competition, where a randomly drawn fan won £5,000, as well as £250,000 for their club to spend on transfers. A Nottingham Forest supporter won and the club used the money to sign Chelsea’s Todd Kane on a six-month loan (8 apps).

Budget coca cola kid
Coca Cola did something similar for a few seasons around 2005. A Saints fan won it one season and the 250k went towards buying Bradley Wright Phillips from Man City.
Do it again so I can win and give it O’Hare as a signing bonus on his new contract
Not as good as the Watford Elton John concert. We had him do a gig at Vicarage Road to raise money for summer transfers. He raised 500k and we bought Troy Deeney with it!
I seem to recall Colin Kazim Richards moving club via the Coca Cola competition as well
What’s stopping you from just signing yourself with a, say, £250k signing on fee?
Forest were under a transfer embargo when this happened, hence the loan signing 😂
In a vaguely similar vein, following Norwich’s relegation to League One season ticket holders were urged to forego their rebate and put it into a transfer pot which the chairman would match. That 400k or so was used for Mr Grant Holt.
If they run another one of these it might be able to pay for 2 minutes of Jean Kevin Augustin
