    They shouldn’t obviously

But I think we were all thinking that it could happen after how heavily they invested in January. The quality they brought in should’ve firmly solidified their playoff place and for whatever reason it just didn’t click

Still a stupid decision, but the owners clearly think someone else would’ve done better

    Blimey.

It wouldn’t happen but if Mowbray can’t come back I’d be straight on the phone to him.

  3. Absolute joke if true. We’ve gone from relegation fodder to play-off hopefuls in the space of a year and Illicali pulls this? He’s built up a lot of good will from the fans but I fear this will alienate those who thought he should be given more time (90+% of the fanbase).
Unless we bring in a proven Premier League/European manager, stupid decision.

In the owner’s eyes he’s underachieved. Massively backed and failing to get what is quite a weak 5th/6tg

I’ve heard Michael Beale is an excellent coach, could be worth a call?

Doesn’t have enough of a winning mentality obviously. Rooney is available, maybe they’re going for him? I mean, Rooney was clearly the brains behind the operation at Derby.

  7. I think he’s had a pretty shocking 6 months but bloody hell. Not really sure who they would replace him with. I think most Championship clubs in need of a bit of stability will be after him.

I hear there’s a scouse bloke who claims he can implement no fear football if you give him enough time and money

    😲

This is what he gets for finishing 7th? Thought he did well but then again, I’m not the Hull owners.

EDIT: According to SSN, he was shortlisted for the Championship manager of the season award.

  10. What the actual f*ck!

Edit: just seen it’s true. This is an appealing short sighted decision. A very sad day for Acun’s ownership

Will prove a good move for Hull. Really poor for him not to bag playoffs with that level of investment and quality in January. You’ve regressed a lot. Need better if you’re wanting to push towards the playoffs. Very much like us and Mowbray last season – bloke took us to his ceiling and needed replacing at the end of last season instead of letting his lingering ruin this whole season for us. Same would have happened for you under Rosenior

  12. Rising-Aire on

I thought when Hull came to Elland Road, despite beating them at the end, they looked a decent outfit and you got the vibe they were a team “on the up”.

  13. I think they should’ve made the playoffs but that seems harsh, seems like they were in a good position to push on next season with the project.

  14. Wow I’m genuinely so shocked. I know we missed out on playoffs but he’s built something good here and is very popular with the fans. Surely give him another season at least!? Can only think that maybe there’s someone else lined up

  15. Pretty mad decision. Victim of his own success a little bit imo, backed heavily because they were close to the playoffs but fell short which is expected when teams were essentially fighting for 2 positions since the top 4 were so strong. Surely they have some lined up ready who they think is better

  16. Haunting-Spray4241 on

As a Southampton fan, they pressed us so much and deserved to beat us. I was glad we don’t have to face them in the playoffs. Very surprised they have sacked him

  17. Feels like an FM sack after you failed to fulfil some shitty promise like “make the most out of set pieces”.

  18. Appropriate-Map-3652 on

I can *kind of* see why. With the money spent Hull really should have been threatening the playoffs more seriously.

But this still seems incredibly short sighted.

  19. That is insane. Hull were backed heavily and it was a bit of a disapointment not to make the play-offs, but given the strength of the division and seeing the underperformance of teams like Birmingham and Coventry, sacking Rosenior is insane. That game against Ipswich was amazing, showing two top quality teams in action.

  20. Such a short sighted decision considering the amount of progress we made as a club. He better have someone insane lined up to replace him

  21. Mitch_Itfc on

That’s shocking surley not!? Did any Hull fan actually want him gone?

  22. Mattehzoar on

This is such a shit decision and has the chance to sour the relationship new owners have built so quickly, absokutely insane decision

  23. Did they under perform because surely not…??? Sacking someone who just signed a new deal is just a massive waste of money

  24. LUFC_shitpost on

unless they have someone real special lined up, Will still maybe? This seems dumb

  25. Cannot wait to get some rouge Turkish manager in and go down to league one
