  1. Captain of Inter Milan, with whom he still scored 27 goals this season, Lautaro Martinez reaches the end of his contract in June 2026 and has been discussing an extension for months with his club, which has just changed ownership. The American investment fund Oaktree took over the club from China’s Steven Zhang, who failed to repay the 395 million euros he owed the fund in time.

A new era has thus begun at Inter, the reigning Italian champions, and Oaktree’s representatives have been in Milan since the start of the week to meet with the club’s various managers and sectors. A meeting also took place yesterday between Inter’s sporting director, who remains in place, and Simone Inzaghi, who is set to extend his contract until 2027. Nicolo Barella is also set to extend his contract.

And Lautaro Martinez? Inter’s Argentine striker and captain has been negotiating a new contract for months, having only extended his contract once, to October 2021, since joining the club in 2018. According to Tuttosport, the Argentine is demanding a progressive salary ranging from €12m/year next season to €16m/year within three years. For their part, Inter would not want to go beyond €10m/year, given that he currently earns €6m/year. Oaktree will have to take the matter in hand.

According to specialist website FCInterNews, a meeting is scheduled between today and tomorrow between Inter Milan management and Alejandro Camano, the Argentine’s agent, who also represents a certain Achraf Hakimi. And according to this source, PSG sounded out Alejandro Camano some twenty days ago about the feasibility of recruiting Lautaro Martinez, in the context of discussions concerning the Moroccan right-back’s extension.

There’s nothing very concrete yet, but PSG are keeping a close eye on Lautaro Martinez, who seems to fit in perfectly with Luis Enrique’s idea of a centre-forward. In attack, the Parisian priority seems to be the recruitment of a left winger, as has already been widely reported, but there is no doubt that PSG would not be insensitive to a real opening in the Lautaro Martinez dossier. It’s still too early to say, and the player is adamant that he wants to stay at Inter, but it’s a matter to be followed closely over the coming weeks.

I like him but only as a 2nd striker in a duo.. him leading the line on his own is wack.

In big games he always underperforms as well.

I’d be open to it , only if we can use Ramos or kolo as a bargaining chip

He’s a fantastic player but I think the club is no longer going to shackle themselves to giving stupid crazy contracts to players. That’s how you end up like Barcelona.
