Not surprising tbh, sure, Luxembourg are a weak opponent, but that’s not an excuse for him being much more precise technically yesterday, being able to do accurate first touch crosses like I saw a couple of times yesterday, and just generally playing a lot “cleaner” than we’ve seen this season. Maybe if some fans stopped instantly insulting players who quite clearly do give everything on the pitch and are willing to put in the effort I so clearly remember fans claiming that’s all they wanted to see. You can give constructive criticism all you want, but the nicknames that were given to him after 3 games and that have persisted throughout the season is obviously not gonna help a player who clearly just wants to do well.

He’s a winger (or side striker) that needs space like in Frankfurt. Not helped being a lonely striker in a possession based team attacking parked bus in Ligue 1.

You want a mindset from him that’s bigger than the moment, where he begins to be quoted as saying things like “I WELCOME the pressure, let’s go” or the like. This sounds like he will, in terms of mindset, allow external conditions to shape his readiness and delivery. He can’t afford to think that way, imho.
