  1. The more I’ve looked into him, the more excited I’ve gotten about this appointment. Whereas every other appointment has been working with the system, I very much think Regis is the missing piece that completes it.

Also, if it’s true he’s bringing in the other Lorient coach who worked as a sports psychologist through the youth team, I think that will be massive for us. What we need right now is someone who can turn the mentality around, and having someone experienced in that field with young players would be very helpful.

    A really mature appointment

Got to Brie-leive in the process going forward

    Let the Gouda times commence

For a team that wants back in the prem I doubt a manager with a 30% win record will do that

  4. Pour one out for the Michael Beale alt account, wish he could enjoy this moment with the rest of the subreddit.

Jokes aside, seems like a modern coach with Pep-like tactics (fullbacks pushing forward, possession heavy, attacking in 4-3-3/4-2-3-1).

Got relegated this season because the club’s management sold his best players and the replacements weren’t good enough.

As a side note, stuff like that (board/DoF selling your best players year after year) makes me dislike the modern “head coach” philosophy where you only control what’s in front of you, and have little to no say in transfers, especially if a club isn’t in a good financial position.

And I do get that Ligue 1 has way less money than the Championship but it’s still annoying. It happened to Reims, it happened to Lorient, and countless other clubs.

  5. First foregin manager we’ve had who has never managed in Britain before (I think). No idea what he’s like but looking forward to see what he brings.
