We’re a depressingly backwards nation and gen z falling for right wing nonsense online isn’t helping sadly.

  2. I mean, Saka equalised. If someone else had gone on to score they would be in the photos and it’d be about them.

It was a penalty shootout and the whole team are pictured, including Trent who is black….

I get what you’re implying but this is more about the lack of respect Saka gets from the printed press rather than racism. Bellingham is constantly all over the newspapers.

There’s even on the bottom left paper a full euro ‘pullout’ which goes into detail of the games and Saka is front and centre of that.

  3. Saka has been one of Englands best and most consistent players, on a wing where it seems like Walker doesn’t want to acknowledge his presence. You’ve got players like Foden and Bellingham who look like they’re playing for themselves and they never get slated

Saka scored a gorgeous goal to save a game that England should’ve genuinely lost

I dont understand why everyone here expects racist people to suddenly become not racist.

[Goal.com](http://Goal.com) not only praises Saka in one post and his mentality in another one but also says England might be better off without Kane… but they also say Kroos is the Federer of football?! Hello, Ozil?!

Saka should just go to his roots country and play for them. They don’t deserve him.

I have always believed they do it on purpose just to get engagement. I’m sure they’re not this stupid and would so willingly wanna out themselves as racists

What about the Saka cracker headline you can see there at the bottom. They’ve put photos of the whole team, including black players. Why are people saying racism?

  9. Guess who the commentators praise for putting shift for being all over the pitch vs actual player who sprint another length of pitch at 116 min to block a shot ( who btw putting shift for a whole game, and also just played 120 min before. I could go on)

At least the big journals like BBC, Daily Mail, Telegraph and The Sun didn’t commit the same mistake. All of them giving Saka his deserved recognition.

There’s 15 black players on all of those articles, but people are saying racism because 1 player should be on the cover, even though Saka is on the cover of the pull-out magazine on the bottom newspaper.

I’m not English but I cheered Saka’s goal like it was an Arsenal goal.

When he stepped up for the penalty I was just saying “please don’t miss, these fans are ungrateful and will turn on you”.

Throughout the tournament I’ve been terrified that he or Rice will do something that will cause them to be the scapegoats.

Yes neither have been their best for England but then England are the football team version of a kid trying to put on a jumper but are trying to get their head in the sleeve.

An England v France final would be the worst possible torture for anyone who likes football.

  13. Imagine if White was there with Saka. The right side would cook. Now it’s all up to Saka. When he’s on the wings, no overlap runs, he has to do it all himself.

It’s no different to how sterling was treated. He had many great nights with England and never got his flowers. As soon as he slipped up the racists were out. History repeats, we love saka though, starboy forever!

The saddest part about all of this is how Ian Wright didn’t post a single tweet about Saka or the team after the match. He knows what the replies would be about & I don’t blame the fans. Oh what have you done Ian…

Oh you lot stop ffs. We got through due to penalties, that’s what these pictures are.

I reckon Saka should retire from international football after this competition.

When England win it’s a group effort, when they lose they gotta scapegoat the black kids…

  19. This a reach. Toney is the centre of these photos – how can you say this is racism?…because it’s not Saka? Toney literally scored the game winning pen so of course they’d use that moment.
    It’s not that deep guys
