Here's my cynical view. Watch Ruud Van Nistelrooy's highlights reel. The guy was physically gifted, the way his legs seem so much lighter that a normal human's. He had a record for never scoring outside of the box so was very much a finisher, he has no experience in creating the goal scoring opportunity. Compare this to someone like Zidane who knows what it takes to create a goal scoring opportunity. This hire won't work.
