Is this a “Leeds will tear you apart” or a “Leeds are falling apart” day?

  2. When we hit the woodwork 3 times in the first 6 minutes, I knew it wouldn’t be our day.

  3. Huge credit to Portsmouth, deserved what they got given the difference in squads

Saying that, we did miss enough chances to win two matches, and the last kick of the game was Aaronson missing a sitter (although he did save the draw)

Bogle had as mixed a debut as I can remember, was encouraged with his attacking play, but he was stinking defensively and that penalty was so needless

Not a good result to start, but not massively concerned

You guys should have won that with the chances you had but football is a weird thing. I think both sets of fans can be disappointed considering how the final minutes played out. As a Pompey fan I’m happy we have what it takes to score in this league and that’s with having a number of players out and still awaiting a few new signings. Leeds obviously have class players and be amazed if you guys don’t challenge for the title this season. All the best.

  5. The day we get rid of the French Cal the Dragon in our goal is the day I will finally be happy

  6. We just simply weren’t good enough in parts of that game to deserve a win, but Jesus Christ do I detest Ollie Langford.

Gives free kicks and no cards all game for pulling our players back by their shirt, shorts and anything else they could grab until rodon does it once and it’s an immediate booking.

Going forward we were good. Missed some really good chances, but even with that when you score 3 it’s hard to really pin the blame on the attack for the result

Defensive disasterclass was why we dropped points. First one we’ve got players all over the place then it goes right through the keeper, second one is a great hit but a really poor defensive header that was basically begging to be hit, and what Bogle was doing for the pen I have no idea.

At least they had that shot from the halfway line to get mesliers save percentage above zero, I suppose.

First 10 minutes went exactly how I had hoped they would, we were absolutely dominant and should have scored 3, but still held a much deserved 1-0 lead. The remaining 80 minutes was Leeds reminding me that we are still Leeds, after all.

  9. That was really fun. Can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a game as a neutral so much.

Fair fucks to Portsmouth, probably the single toughest game of the season and they’ve smuggled a point out of there.

  10. Not a good performance, good game to watch though. I have no idea how Aaronson hasn’t won us the game there. Meslier shite.

Referee was abysmal. Portsmouth had 4 yellow cards and genuinely should’ve had at *least* 5 more. Constantly pulling on shirts / shorts and blatantly stopping counter attacks and the ref just let them.

Then Rodon and Struijk commit 2 challenges that are barely even fouls and both get booked. Absolutely ludicrous.

Got both penalties right though, so there’s that I guess.

  11. Leeds are back baby. Jesus.

Portsmouth had a hell of a game though, and with a reduced strength squad. Looking forward to see how they do this year, provided they don’t do as well as Ipswich.

  12. It’s been a while since I lost my voice watching a game on TV, I’m sure the point will feel good tomorrow but it’s a bit gutting to not hold onto the 3 points at the end. Can’t wait for the rest of the season

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a keeper slower to get down to shots than Pompey’s

  14. Missed it as was at the hospital.

    Hngnghghgngn.

I tip my hat to Pompey, welcome back to the Heart Attack League.

  15. Pompey were really well set up today. Worthy of a point or more. Leeds didn’t have enough cutting edge today

  16. Fair play to Portsmouth getting a result at RB Leeds. Looked decent and RBL missed numerous chances again

  17. Definitely an intense game to wake up to this morning here in the US!

Elated with a point, ecstatic to potentially take all three, gutted to drop two, and then elated with a point again, all in about 10 minutes. 😅

  18. Should have won that 6-1. Easy to put that down to a bit of a freak game but I think you do have to give Portsmouth credit because they were up for that, and unfortunately us fluffing chance after chance and letting other teams get results when we should have stuffed them isn’t exactly a new problem.

Lots of positives but we really need someone clinical to put these away. Long term hopefully it’ll be Joseph but I do think we could do with a finisher. Also massively unimpressed with Meslier today.

Pompey will suprise a few people this season. Fratton Park can be a very hard place to go.
