  1. Aye it’s not a bad choice. He’s a steady pair of hands and has been promoted before, albeit with one of the best teams in the league.

Hope they can get some players in now for him and see. We shouldn’t be as bad as we’ve been so far

Can’t really ask for a more accomplished manager in the position we are in.

And he can’t be any worse than the last bloke .

  3. Solid appointment that will go well in terms of bringing fans back on side, no ego and a thoroughly decent bloke with a top quality No 2

Can’t wait to find out who next months manager is

  4. I genuinely thought we’d be getting a Westley 2.0.

Pleasantly surprised, today is a good day and hopefully we can get a few signings/loans for him before the window closes.

  5. Was the obvious choice after Lowe left so I’m happy, especially with him bringing McCall with him. Priority one is backing him with what he needs in the remainder of the window, if we don’t sign at least one centre half and get some pace in this treacle treading squad it will be a travesty.

  6. I’m really pleased we managed to get this appointment, I actually thought he could aim a little higher than us, but on balance, it makes sense for both sides.

Also, what a banger of a last name

  7. Stuart McCall taking over for the Harrogate game then?

Jokes aside, cracking appointment, we always seem to get on paper the most suitable boss.

He’s not Lowe or Marsh so it’s already a massive step up

  8. Chuffed with that.

Thanks again to all the Sheffield United (and Leeds 😂) fans who commented on my post last week.

A great appointment for PNE, I’m not too familiar with their squad or what he’ll have to work with, but if anybody can get a tune out of them it’ll be Hecky.

When he was managing Leeds we called him Paul fuckarse.

Was shit for us but has done a good job elsewhere. Probs a good hire for preston

  11. Hopefully he makes it past game 3 as Preston seems to to be playing the first ever championship nuzlocke

  12. What he did at United, with the club falling apart around him, with very little investment, shouldn’t be overlooked or understated.

I don’t think all United fans realise we owe the near-term future of the club to him being able to push the team over the line for promotion and get the PL revenue in.

I think PNE have made a good call there.

Great appointment for us, couldn’t be happier of course style and results maketh the manager but he will get the grace period of the first 5 minutes of the next game, if we haven’t scored 3 goals and are playing like Barca then he’s out as far as I am concerned (/s just in case).
