Seems like we blew our load against Plymouth.

But sorry Danny you got that all wrong you cant play a pressing system with the corpse of Bannan in the centre.

We got completely outclassed ended up just a stroll in park for them

  2. Ok so it turns out we are still shit after all, it’s just that Plymouth under Rooney are exponentially more shit

  3. What a win. Definitely deserved the three point but we sure need depth. Time for 49ners to pull their finger out now and get more players in

  4. Blades fans I think it’s best if we enjoy this in silence tonight till we see the results of our game tomorrow. Would hate to jump the gun like them lot did last weekend after the QPR game. as much as I hate to say it… Thank you Leeds. Made my day after my house literally caught fire today

  5. Danny boy has got it completely wrong for the 2nd week running. Windass, Musaba and J Lowe completely ineffective, Bannan can’t play in a two man midfield and Iorfa isn’t good enough.

A far weaker Leeds team than last time once again didn’t even break a sweat.

I was led to believe we were winning the league by March.

Was this inaccurate? Can we please just be boring? Averagely bad will do. Just give me 17th.

Some things I’ve noticed with our team:

Bannan and Windass are what we call (and I use this term *very liberally*) luxury players. You cannot build a team around them, and you cannot make them undroppable.

Windass just doesn’t offer anything else to his game other than popping up with a huge goal once every 5 games. He doesn’t press that effectively, his defensive game is not really present, and isn’t fast or chaotic or whatever to make a difference.

Bannan is just old, so unless you’re playing against a weaker team where he gets tons of touches and less pressure he just isn’t effective. Combined with the fact he’s small he isn’t going to act as a makeshift CDM when he sits deep. Since about 2018ish I never saw him as a proper leader either. He’s constantly flapping his arms around yelling at his team mates to cover x player or y player as the play develops around him; it’s like a hinderance. Plus he’s always screaming at the ref which is a terrible attitude to have when the team is losing you need your leader to step up and take control which he never does.

It seems like Rohl won’t drop either of these players probably due to seniority or whatever but nobody should be guaranteed in the starting XI. This makes setting up differently on a game-by-game basis impossible which is why we just got smoked twice in the past 5 days.

Solid, deserved win. Amazing how quickly the mood can shift with a signing and a good performance.

I really hate losing a Friday night game. Totally ruins the weekend (football wise) before it begins. I’ll have no interest in the games tomorrow cos I’ll still be sulking after this.

  10. As strange as it sounds, maybe we have hit peak Rohl at Sheffield Wednesday. The players at his disposal aren’t good enough to challenge for the top 6, and (I’m guessing, given the owner) the funds aren’t available to match where he will want to be

  11. Don’t think Weds were as bad as some comments say. The first 20-30 minutes were very even and then the players lost confidence.

The second half Leeds were much better and Weds barely did anything but I don’t think that’s an issue for Weds, more a comment on Leeds successfully shutting up shop.

Good first half for a “neutral,” poor second half overall except for a fantastic goal.

Really poor first half from Bogle and shocker of a game from Max Lowe. Good to see the ex blades doing well.

We looked so much better without Piroe at #10. Can DF just never play him there again please? Loads to love about that performance. Exactly the kind of display we needed. Keep the ball, control the game, quieten the crowd and take the chances when they come. Joseph led the line superbly and the only thing missing was a goal for himself but finishing and composure will improve with more experience you’d hope. Struijk showed what a big miss he was in the second half of last season too. Back-to-back clean sheets extremely welcome after the horror shows at the back against Pompey and Boro!

After the Plymouth game, I expected more from Wednesday, but they look bad. Just goes to show how awful Plymouth were.

  14. For all the comments on how Leeds’ deserved it, which they did overall, I thought Wednesday looked bloody decent until they scored, they didn’t have possession but looked very dangerous and had a fair few nearly moments!
