    Jack Clarke who?

Fucking buzzing after that, what a win. Mundle took his goal excellently, reminding me very much of a certain departing winger.

Top of the fucking league ❤️

Our best performance so far and should have been more. Also O’Nien and Alese partnership is cooking – a team that have scored 9 in 2 barely had a sniff.

As an aside, Parker is an untterly unlikeable cardigan nonce.

  3. I don’t want to get too carried away, but we’re going up as unbeaten champions with no goals conceded.

  4. What a start to the season. Mundle looks like he wants to give Le Bris a selection headache, which is fantastic. Roberts looks back to his old self and the defence is absolutely solid. Also have some great depth from the bench which is something I never thought I would say about a Sunderland side. Keep going like this and we might be in the top end conversation!

  5. Regis Le Bris is a Fench wizard who transforms dossers into world beaters. I can barely believe this is the same team as last season.

    Utterly baffled by that performance.

Hope we’ll get an explanation why people like Cullen and Koleosho were missing, bench full of kids and a bizarre starting 11. Egan Riley not played a minute but in over McNally.

Credit Sunderland for grinding out and ugly win but crikey they couldn’t have had it easier with that selection and setup.

Side note – what was with the ref? Seemed like he had decided football was a non contact sport with so many soft decisions, red card seemed harsh too (although not seen much of a replay).

  7. We’ve come out of our biggest test so far and made it 3 wins and 3 clean sheets. Had to work for it at the end, but that only makes it sweeter. We’ve done a very good job of showing that losing Clarke doesn’t mean anything, we’re still looking good for a playoff race.

  8. Sell Benson, Zaroury, Weghorst, Odobert, Amdouni, Twine, Gudmundsson and possibly Koleosho for the first decent bid that comes in and this is what u get.

Disgrace that 2 keepers and 3 academy players were on the bench with the squad we came down with.

Didn’t expect to be saying this last week but we need to be very active this week, 4/5 midfielders and forwards should be the minimum.

Feel for Parker, board takes all the blame for that performance. Our squad from the 1st game of the season to the 4th game will be probably have 10 players out and 10 in, that should be 3 years of change, not 3 weeks

  9. Terrible line-up. The squad destruction this week has been so over the top. Almost felt like Parker was trying to send a message to the board with his selection.

Big week in the transfer window for us, will be the difference between promotion and mid table.

Sunderland a very good side that anyone will struggle to beat to be fair to them, but we seriously need reinforcements.

  10. This is what happens when the main point of owning a club is flipping players for profit. Takes some doing to go from the best depth in the league to Luke McNally playing up front.

A big week ahead. Anything less than 5 new players and this will be an awful transfer window.

Parker also has to do better. No game plan today at all.

  12. Pat was phenomenal when called upon today. Mundle excellent, cirkin fantastic if not a bit greedy on the breakouts. All the lads were spot on. Neil bit daft to be getting the first yellow for back chat.

Hope Clarke enjoys the championship next season

  13. Burnley never came close to scoring there, absolutely battered them the first half, and played well on the counter in the second. We are actually good this season man

That’s a massive win for Sunderland. Burnley had looked like world beaters first 2 weeks, and they weren’t at all intimidated

. I really hope they go upAs a fan of English football – it’s so good to see the Mackems do well.

  15. I know we had horrific injuries last season, but this just goes to show the difference in manager quality. Beale and Dodds couldn’t magic up a win with a genies lamp.

Some French football nerd no one’s ever heard of comes in and all of a sudden we score from set pieces, defend with a good press, Patrick Roberts is playing like he did two years ago, a striker has scored two goals and we win our opening three games for the first time in 99 years.

And all this with potentially three new attacking signings to come into the team. The doom and gloom has definitely disappeared.

Well, that’s a swift change in momentum.

Let’s see what comes for the end of the transfer window, but the squad depth was quality only 7 days ago. It can’t be this going forward.

  17. Unbelievable contrast in the squad from last week. Very nervy, hopefully Worrall settles quickly.

  18. He’s leaving Debris everywhere! Actually makes me feel a bit more hopeful about Wednesday’s fortune so far, although I really should know better.

Sunderland you are a good squad and I’m not taking anything away from you here.

What has happened in the last two summer windows has been a fucking disgrace. Bringing in kids to sell for profit whilst freezing out key squad members all just to sell our valuable players to the first decent bid, and our frozen out players because they are frustrated they can’t get a game. Give Muric, Benson, Zaroury gametime in the prem, and sign a Left back (we didnt have a senior left back for a year btw), sign Tella… we aren’t having this conversation right now because we probably stay up.

The worst part is, if we do somehow get promoted (with that squad it would be a miracle) we will do the same thing again.

  20. The first half especially is the worst I’ve seen us play for a few seasons, even last season. Not to take too much away from a very good Sunderland, but that Burnley team will be lucky to get playoffs. No idea, no steel. Too many changes, too many key personnel missing.

If Sunderland can become more lethal in front of goal, they’ll go up easily. They wasted too many chances today against a poor defence.

Congratulations to Sunderland! A winning streak is always exciting. Let’s see how they perform in the upcoming matches

  22. Credit to Sunderland, they deserved it every day of the week.

That lineup & bench is one of the worst I’ve seen us put out in a long time. Turns out selling half your squad in a week might have some downside to them cohesion.

  23. What a win. Every player put an absolute shift in today! Unbelievable start to the season
