For £10m, providing his wages aren’t massive it’s definitely a worthwhile risk.

I’ve always rated 6 attackers for 3 spots
rotational depth will be nice once we’re playing every three days

Seems like the transfer fee will be quite low, so if the wages are reasonable, this would be pretty much no risk with a potentially very high reward. He’s only 26, younger than Diogo and Lucho. If we can look after his health, which should be doable if he’s our 6th attacker, this could really pay dividends.

“as per fabrizio romano” has joyce become the tap in merchant while Romano’s climbing the tier ladder ? LMAO

I’d argue it is the signing that makes the most sense along with a CB. We literally subbed on Harvey for Mo last game and that’s practically the only real alternative we have on the right, besides a potentially converted Diaz but that looks unlikely. At every other position we have reasonable back-ups.

How many non-hg spots do we have? Initial thoughts is this doesn’t make any sense

I’d still rather have a 6 but can’t say no to depth

Recent injury history is a bit blown out of proportion. Chiesa **played 37 matches** for Juve last year **while producing 10G + 4A** in all competitions.
This is a low-risk/high-reward signing. Top winger on his day, young at 26, adds quality and depth to our attack, and he’s rumored to be under £20M.
While I’d prefer to see us sign a midfielder, there’s no doubt in my mind signing Chiesa makes us better.

This is low risk high reward really. I imagine the fee would be low. And if he flops majorly then we can just let him walk

Isn’t he injury prone? Pliz not another aquilani

I’m behind this. Someone else tweeted saying this is very Shaqiri esque.
We didnt do signings like this enough after we won the league, if he comes in as Salahs back up he’s better than doak. If he plays 20 games this season that’s allowing Salah adequate rest then that’s boss.
If he chips in with a couple of goals too then that’s even better. Prime age but it’s just his injury record as a concern.
Think if it was him and a 6 that’s a great window (if gomez goes then Branthwaite to have Everton’s piss boiling even better)

I’m surprised anyone is against this from a positional perspective. Diaz and Gakpo on the left, Jota and Nunez up front, Salah and Chiesa on the right. That’s ideal attacking depth.

LMFAO. Lets go for it. Depth in every single position
Getting Chiesa for the same price as Bobby Clark is mad. Obviously injuries a big problem. But hopefully a lesser role limits them
I imagine if Paul is saying this, after the Zubi fuck ups, its a lot more advanced than “weighing up”
I always rated Paul
You could have pitched 30 players to be our next target and he wouldn’t have come on the list.
Gives me Shaqiri vibes if it goes through. Cheap price and proven back up on the wings.
Hope this starts a flurry
Welcome Frederico 2077 Despacito Remix
This is the weirdest transfer window I’ve ever known for us
Fab needs upgrading. Has some non-updates due to engagement farming but his contacts are solid as ever.
If he’s okay with accepting a back up role I dont see why not.
You know what they say about Italian players, 8th time’s the charm
Low risk considering the price
Worth the gamble I suppose

starting to believe that hughes and edwards set their alarm clocks off two months late
regardless i’d be happy with this so give me the chiesa lean please and thank you
Idk why but Joyce not tagging him in so funny
Huh. Well, now that it’s Joyce, who’s never been wrong about the outcome of a transfer saga this window… 👀
(in actuality – this could at least be pretty interesting, I’ll take some late-window drama)
If Joyce has got wind of this, I’d imagine it’s pretty far advanced. No way Hughes & co look like mugs twice in one summer.
Very leftfield.
Kinda an opportunistic signing tbf at the low price expected to sign him.
Also was mostly healthy last season too.
Def need a CB whether or not Gomez goes though
What the fuck. Rad
You can’t just call him Paul
New Shaqiri just dropped
