Bryan Mbeumo bagged a brace as Brentford beat Southampton 3-0 at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.

Mbeumo netted either side of half-time, and Yoane Wissa bundled home another, as the Bees held a three-goal advantage heading into the final 20 minutes. Yukinari Sugawara scored a late consolation for the visitors.

  1. A good solid team performance from the Bees.
Lots of players stepped up and apart from Bryan and Yoane scoring the goals Mikkel had a really good game and Mark just missed out on a clean sheet.
The good thing as well is that the long drawn out Ivan Toney saga is finally over. Brentford will pocket about 40m pounds and that will go towards the recent acquisitions that we have made.
Ivan was a good player for us and he will definitely be remembered for his role in helping Brentford make it into the Premier League. He will certainly have a significant place in the history of Brentford.
Anyway, that chapter of Brentford's history is now closed and we have to look forward to the future and, in my opinion, it looks pretty good.
