  1. I used to love this sub

Now I breathe the rarefied air.

I support Ipswich Town Football Club.

Come on mods, where’s my flair?

    😘

It is truly an honour, a great honour that has been bestowed upon us.

My poem was so good that I’m allowed to keep this flair even though we’re still in there (not for long with this form)

Too long have I been incognito

My alliance is as Willy Gnonto

From my head down to my toe

Gimmie a Leeds flair and make it pronto

Having been exiled to the Premier League for a short while I am adopting the persona of a Leeds fan for the purpose of my poem:

This is clearly all biased against Leeds

My poem need not rhyme just to please

Though it’s clear you all hate us

    Don’t underestimate us

    Fuck off

Learnt this the hard way, took me 15 poems, I ended up having to write one about Charlie Adam’s knob

  6. Mine was :

I’ll tell you once and tell you firmly,
I will never again go to Burnley.
What goes on there will not concern me.
I wish I’d never made that journey.

  7. A sky blue hue, a proud city’s heart,
    Coventry City, where legends start.
From Highfield Road to the CBS’s roar,
    A passionate fanbase, forevermore.

Through trials and tribulations, they’ve stood the test,
A phoenix rising, always the best.
With every goal, a city cheers with might,
    Coventry City, burning bright.

  8. I have bought

    the players

    that were in

    your youth team

    and which

    you were probably

    saving

    for the Premier League

    Forgive me

    they were very good

    Now we’ll sell them

    to Ipswich

It’s not easy being green, once said Kermit the Frog

And It may not be in style to follow the Argyle

As a wandering pilgrim, the top flight’s out of reach

Whatever, we’ve got Pasties, Sun* and Beach.

    *I lied

  10. *why are you in R/championship?: a haiku*

    We aren’t here yet

    But r/soccer kinda sucks

    I’ll talk more next year

  11. My favourite club by a mile
Is where Green & White is in style
    Our new man, Cissoko
    He makes the crowd loco
We’re the one, we’re the ONLY Argyle!

  12. Oh noble mods of r/championship grand domain,
Hear this plea from one whose heart is in the game.
For Sheffield United, I proudly stand,
A Blades supporter, my allegiance bestowed upon me by my father unplanned.

Through highs and lows, I’ve cheered each clash and play,
With passion bright, I honor each matchday.
Yet here I seek a flair to show my pride,
To mark the journey on this self loathing ride.

A badge of honor, small but deeply felt,
For every win and many loss, where memories dwelt.
Grant me this flair, to wear with joy and grace,
And let it symbolize my loyal place.

In forums wide, where voices rise and blend,
Let mine be known, true to the Blades till the end.
So grant this humble wish, esteemed and dear,
And let my Sheffield flair now appear.

Edit: I realise mine is the only serious one here and now I look a right tit XD

  13. **To Stoke, I stroke**

    To Stoke, I stroke

    But my joy they revoke

    Bespoke the stroke

    Of sadness, a joke

Only pain, does this stroke invoke

    Roses are red,
    Lancashire’s blue,
    Blackburn Rovers,
    Are fucking poo.

I don’t think I can dig at Yorkshire, Burnley, and ourselves, more succinctly than that.

  15. I tried to write a poem about Town

But have had a few beers and my creativity is down

    I need to go pee

So I’m going to ask Chat GPT

    And he says…

In Huddersfield, where hills embrace the town,
A football dream ignites, where legends crown.
From Yorkshire’s heart, where sturdy spirits soar,
    Huddersfield Town, we cheer forevermore.

In the blue and white, with pride we stand,
A storied club, a beacon in the land.
The Terriers fight, with grit and might,
Through every season’s day and darkest night.

From the glory days of yore, when titles reigned,
To battles on the pitch, where courage is unchained,
Each match a testament to hearts so true,
In every goal and tackle, passion breaks through.

So here’s to Huddersfield, where dreams take flight,
In the stands, our voices rise to height.
For every fan, a family in the fray,
Together we will cheer, come what may.
