  1. Absolutely baffled by this. It’s not been an ideal start but it’s 5 fucking games, 2 of which we’ve been genuinely good. Just seems a complete waste of a transfer window and pre season to get rid this early.

I said before the season started I wouldn’t want him gone this season at all unless it got especially bad, which it absolutely hasn’t.

Something has clearly been going on in the background for a while. It’s still strange to sack a manager when the fans are mostly still on board. I can only assume there’s a manager lined up.

  3. Fucking hell, this came out of the blue. Fans largely still onboard and looked like we were just waiting for new signings to gel. I was still optimistic FFS.

I imagine they have someone lined up already. And I’d put money on it being an in-form championship manager so we make it unnecessarily pressured start for them and having another team hate us.

He wasn’t exactly doing great but who has at Stoke in the last decade ? . Absolute basket case of a club

  5. The last few managerial changes could be seen coming.

Nobody saw this one coming? There must be something bigger behind this.

  6. Shawcross in with Pulis as Assistant, Rory back coaching set pieces, Salif Diao conditioning coach – the boys are back in town. Goodbye Championship

Thank God the club signed another 10+ players before firing the manager… the 3rd and 4th times it didn’t work but this time it will

  8. What a mental decision this early in the season.

And as a Hull fan I just know fate now means we’re going to lose to a caretaker-managed Stoke on Friday

  9. I honestly don’t get this decision. Our two home games this season the crowd has been behind him. Even with the loss to Albion. The fans weren’t angry. It wasn’t a great performance but even played to get a point and tried dammed hard.

We’ve had two awful performances, look at Neil he had about 10. Jones got 30 games of shite. Left us rock bottom. Hughes left us up shit creek without a paddle.

Give time and momentum, fuck the international breaks they don’t help and we could push. This is just a fucking joke. The idiots at the top don’t know what they’re doing. I still like Schumacher. He’s a good young manager.

Let’s hope we don’t stick with the British born mantra. It’s clearly not working, something really big has to change. I just can’t be arsed anymore. I just really can’t.

  10. The change in Schueys face from leaving here to leaving Stoke suggests this has not been a particularly pleasant experience and it makes you wonder if this has more to it than just results….well it does it has a lot to do with the fact Coates is mental.

  11. Always a sign of a well run, stable club when they sack a manager after losing the 1st match back after a 2 week international break. Bonus points for it being the 1st international break as well. /s

In all seriousness, that statement from Walters reads as the classic, “could it be that our ‘talented young squad’ isn’t all that? No, that would mean it’s our recruitment that’s bad. No, it must be the manager.”

Would Argyle fans take him back?

  12. These cunts nearly cost us our Championship status last season and for what? They’re an absolute laughing stock.

As for Schumacher, he didn’t have the stones to stay and try and build something with us. He bailed at the first opportunity to climb up the greasy pole and it’s funny as fuck watching him slide back down it not even a year after he split.

Enjoy being back in League One, snake.

  13. The funniest thing is that we’re 13th, which in theory if we finished here would be our best Championship result since going down.
