I was really worried about Gravenberch defensively going into this season but wow he’s actually looked immense when it comes to reading the game defensively and his defensive work rate in general
The amount of times he manages to intercept passes is so impressive, those long legs come in handy.

One of my favourite moments of the match was his sprinting back to cut out a cross and Virgil screaming his appreciation for it. It’s the kind of thing we couldn’t imagine seeing from Gravenberch last season but now he’s covering every blade of grass on the pitch and it’s a joy to watch.

I still can’t believe how good he’s been so far……I know it’s easy to say this in hindsight but Zubimendi refusing to sign for Liverpool turned out to be a positive thing because Zubimendi wouldn’t have been able to do the defensive work that Gravenberch is doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
