  1. **TLDR: Mount and Højlund**

The Reds were impressive in reaching the Carabao Cup fourth round with a 7-0 triumph against Barnsley on Tuesday night and manager Erik ten Hag could have more options available soon.

Both Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund trained with the group at Carrington, with our photographers capturing the pair working hard to prove they are ready to return to action.

Mount was in the starting line-up for the Premier League games against Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion but was withdrawn at half-time of the away contest with the Seagulls.

The midfielder had also performed well in the Community Shield encounter with Manchester City and been a dynamic presence.

Hojlund, meanwhile, has not featured in a competitive game yet this term.

The Denmark striker was looking sharp in pre-season, scoring against Arsenal during the US tour, but picked up a hamstring problem in the same match.

After making progress with his rehabilitation, our new no.9 will be itching to get back with our free-flowing team scoring 10 times in our last two fixtures.

Look out for more pictures from the session at Carrington from 10:00 BST on Thursday.

  2. I hope to god we can kick on against Palace whom we were so helpless against last season. The last two games looked really promising.

  3. Hate putting a negative spin on it but Shaw not training rules him out of Palace and almost certainly the Twente game.

I know he went from a ‘few weeks out’ to ‘no timeframe’ but he’ll have missed at least 7 games and good chance even if he’s training after that, he won’t be ready to start vs Spurs.

For one of our best players, someone who can give us some actual left sided balance, it’s really fucking annoying how long he’s always out injured. We’re gunna make it to the 2nd international break without starting an actual LB.

  4. Really feel sorry that Hojlund missed so many games already now that the team has finally started creating chances for each other. Feel like he could have had about a goal a game this year with how much Rashford, Amad, and Garnacho have been passing in the final third.

  5. Great news, just do not rush them back please!

Both are good players and can provide things others do not in our squad, the season is long let us ease them back in and not take any chances.

  6. I love Rasmus’s post about it, and then garnacho’s “finally 😭😭”

    Boys we’re winning it all

You can’t see it as has been cropped from the image, but Hojlund is actually still holding that bottle of red wine from the fa cup final
