[Ben Jacobs] Tebas also confirms LaLiga looked at Conor Gallagher’s move to Atletico Madrid (€42m) and Joao Felix’s switch to Chelsea (€50m+€10m) for fair market valuation. He adds English clubs are doing mutually beneficial deals to “fix balances”.

    This was the exact quote

    La Liga president Javier Tebas:

🗣️ “We have reviewed the valuation of the operation between Joao Felix and Gallagher, and I’ll leave it at that.

But there are many transfers within English football involving player exchanges where there are many numbers made to fix balances and books.”

I find it quite hypocritical that Laliga allowed the Pjanic-Arthur swap (60m and 72m valuations respectively) and now they want to criticize other leagues.

  2. Remember when a lot on here genuinely believed he was worth £70m (some going so far as £100m odd) and we sold him for a solid £35m

  3. I mean Gallagher’s valuation was fair and I’d say overall Felix was slightly overpriced but not massively so. So while it’s blatant what the clubs were trying to do, idk how you could do anything about this scenario

There’s always going to be a wide range of reasonable valuations for any player. The market is fast-moving and there are many different factors to consider. I would hate to be a regular tasked with the burden of trying to prove any of these transfer fees are outside a range of reasonableness.

  5. Did he have anything to say when Juve and Barca swapped Arthur and Pjanic? If not he needs to shut up.
