  1. That’s a solid bench right here.

Mainoo getting the rest in midweek was important, he’ll need to run a lot today. Starting Eriksen against that Palace midfield doesn’t give me much assurance.

  2. Mainoo needing to cover all of the space Eriksen will leave while having little pace himself is suicide

Why are we leaving this kid out to dry

    Needed Ugarte

  3. Eriksen again is a massive call with 2 actual DMs on the bench.

No Rashford is another big call but can’t say any winger doesn’t deserve to start

**Substitutes: Bayindir, Evans, Maguire, Casemiro, Ugarte, Mount, Antony, Hojlund, Rashford.**

Erik ten Hag has named his team for this evening’s clash with Crystal Palace.

**The boss has made one change** from our previous Premier League outing – last Saturday’s 3-0 win at Southampton – **as Alejandro Garnacho replaces Marcus Rashford.**

Our no.10 is part of a strong substitutes’ bench which includes Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund, who returned to training this week after injury.

  5. Giving Rashford a rest and Garna another start while he’s in great form fair enough. Rotation is always a good thing.

Going out with the Mainoo Eriksen Bruno midfield is bold.

  6. Not sure about Eriksen starting. He played well in the last two games, but his mobility might be a real issue off the ball.

  7. We are going to get murdered with that midfield. Silly to do this away at selhurst.

    Just fucking play ugarte.

I’m a bit scared with this midfield setup considering the tragedy on our last visit but I guess Ten Hag knows more than we do. Glad to see Garna getting his start and hopefully Rashy can provide the threat off the bench against tired Palace players

Oof. Not sure about this midfield Today. That and dropping Rashy are 2 brave calls. Let’s see…

  10. God damn it, saw Laurie’s tweet that mistakenly listed a midfield of Ugarte and Mainoo. And now I see it’s actually Eriksen instead

With Garnacho, Rashford and Amad all in good form it’s inevitable one would have to be dropped guys. And the funny thing is people would be mad if it was any of those 3 not playing

  12. Although we could keep Rashy on and see if he gets going (i.e, 22/23 Rashy scoring week in and out), I’m happy with Garna x Amad.
    We build for the future.

I’m more concerned about Eriksen and Mainoo as the deeper midfielders :/

    Anyway, GGMU~

  13. I don’t understand our choice in midfield. If this was at OT, maybe. Just maybe, given the recent streak of confidence. But away at Selhurst? I dunno.

Also, Rashford on the bench is a strange one.
A couple of big calls from the gaffer that I hope pay off.

  14. Starting a 32 year old Eriksen for the 3rd time in a row? So much for giving Mainoo a rest. This better work. I know Crystal Palace are buzzing to see this lineup.

  15. Not got any strong opinions given there could be knocks or anything we don’t know about and tbf that front line should be capable of winning without Rashford.

I’m laser focused on Wharton this game. Had a poor start for me, and gets bypassed so easily. He’s got some work to do to live up to the hype of being our main target. Baleba clear at the minute.

Compliments Rashford in his presser; benches him. Ten Hag cracks me up.

Hopefully he’s an impact sub or better yet not needed at all.

  17. Man I really, really hope Erik has pulled a worldie with this selection as I’m terrified right now🙏

Loving the rotation. And great to finally have a relatively fit squad to pick from.

People forget but SAF rotated the squad all the time. It was part of the pregame fun guessing the starting 11. And usually we were wrong.

  19. A little surprised Eriksen retained his place against a more formidable opponent. Also slightly surprised Garnacho start over Rashford. Strong bench with Rasmus and Mount being back. Excited to see Shaw, Malacia, and Yoro back soon enough.

  20. Almost exactly what I was hoping for assuming Ugarte wouldn’t start. A little nervous about the midfield but hopefully we can just keep the ball and we finally have decent bench options.

Excited to see what Amad and Garnacho can do together with Zirkzee’s intelligent hold up play. I still love Rashford but have always felt it’s an awkward fit for how ETH wants to play. Coming off the bench to run at tired defenders could be the best role for him.

Also relieved to not worry about our back line anymore. Love this CB pairing, wish we had a natural left back but both of these two are solid there.

  21. I fear our midfield. Palace are quick and powerful. Eriksen is a lot of things, but quick and powerful ain’t it.
