Playing more deeply with Deki ahead of him taking some of the creative load is a bit of a cheat code tbh.

This is a big part of his game that the neutral crowd won’t always see. Yes he’s good at crossing etc, but to write him off as a “technical player” is doing him a great disservice.

Generational talent.

Ange deserves a lot of credit for these positional changes. For a man with a strict playing philosophy he is more tactically malleable than people give him credit for.

It really was an astonishingly good performance. His willingness to pick the ball up and drive with it was a hallmark of our good performances last season and something he completely stopped doing after he got injured.
It’s also all the proof you should need that this team excels in transition wars and why so few teams do anything other than ultra low block long ball against us. We created so many high quality chances because Brentford came to play.

Love Eriksen, but he never turned like Maddison
He was the Tasmanian Devil out there. Unreal.
