I’ve been dealing with injuries to my lower back and cervical spine and know well how it feels when your body betrays you. Wish him the best. Rolls Royce of a defender.

The poor guy just turned 31 meanwhile Pepe made it to 41.

31-years-old and having to retire even when going to a much slower-paced league. Varane was often critical of the amount of games being played, hence his retirement from international football a couple of years ago.
We also had Rodri complain about the amount of games too, and he ended up getting an ACL.
I feel for the players tbh, especially someone like Varane that’s had a history of injuries.
Can only wish him well for the future, but don’t think he’ll be the last player to retire early, unfortunately.

Good for him, deserves to enjoy life while still young and fit in the grand scheme of things. I hope the youngsters picked up what they could from a serial champion and winner.
