Trent is the type of player that will continue to get slagged and joked about until the day he retires then everyone will realise how special he was and that he’ll never be replicated.
Trent has been a rightback his whole professional career and is killing it there, he’s faces the best LW in the world, he’s done entire campaigns in the league and CL without the defence completely capitulating with him in it. One of the best coaches in world football kept picking him and putting him there. For the love of good can this narrative of him not being good enough defensively and that he should move positions stop.
RB’s now are more attacking and influencing more than ever. Let him thrive at RB man. You can’t compare him and Bale. Completely different players and qualities. These pundits are so dumb it’s funny.
The best thing about Trent Alexander Arnold is that he has the prowess of a generational attacking midfielder AND is good defensively as a right back. This idea Liverpool need to move him into midfield and lose one of their great midfielders to accommodate Trent is the opposite of development for the team. Have Trent in right back is literally the best of both worlds, he's good defensively and seems to be improving on that front (the stick he gets defensively is overblown) and you get an attacking midfielder with generational passing prowess and vision. You lose half of that equation AND either Gravenberch, Macalister or Szoboszlai if you move him into midfield. I don't get what this guy is on about
What nonsense. It’s clear Trent excels at right back because he gets time on the ball he wouldn’t get in midfield or attack. If he goes to Real it will be as a Marcelo style fullback not a midfielder as they have loads of those. The Bale comparison is wrong because Bale has a pace that Trent just does not have.

Trent is helping innovate the modern ball deep-lying playmaking full-back role the same way Pep perfected the role of the False 9. This talk of him playing as a midfielder is becoming dated as Slot gets the best out of him at Liverpool as a hybrid full-back role.

Trent excels at right back because when he has the ball in that area he usually has time to pick out the long passes that he is so good at. He can see the whole pitch from that position and he admitted when playing midfield he didn't like being pressured by opponents. Every member on this soccer Saturday panel is a total clown, no wonder nobody watches it anymore
