Don’t think it has been talked enough about this season that Starboy’s corner taking has gone up a level this year. Three absolutely crucial goals in the last three games from his corners.

Saka’s needs more creative freedom like Messi got during false 9 era.
More central role please

No doubt his deliveries have been a lot better and have led to goals, but I think the consistency still needs a bit of work. He is good for 1-2 corners per game that don’t make it past the near post, or are driven a bit too low. Maybe that’s being nitpicky.

Yea there is a big contrast between Rice and Saka corners. Starboy wip it so good.

I think I’ve seen him hit the first man far too many times to say that ‘nearly every ball’ goes exactly where he wants it.

Yet he doesn’t take them for England.

we’ll need to start mixing up these corners soon, but yes

I don’t think his corners were great overall at the weekend tbh. Lots were punched by the goalkeeper or cleared by a Leicester head.

He really improved his corners technique compared to just a year ago

Just a little reminder for my fellow bitter Englishmen.
Southgate had neither Rice nor Saka on corners despite breaking all sorts of records. He also had Rice in the box for corners (one headed goal in his professional career).

There’s a few players who are on different levels in how they improve. I remember Messi was never that great at free kicks, he came back one summer and just started consistently scoring from them. Not comparing Messi to Saka, but I always admire the players who can really work on improving themselves to another level, if it’s finishing/passing/weak foot/header etc.

They’ll talk about it soon. Non corner/headed-finish g/a is the new g/a

It’s crazy that England saw Arsenal have nearly record breaking corner routines and then instead of letting the two players who put in almost flawless balls take them they gave them to someone else. Baffling.
