  1. Lmao, one of the tweets in the article.

“And Antony was offended he was asked to play LB – dude you’d get more scoring chances at LB then you will at RW! “

  2. Really good article. Not many people are considering how the width of our forward line + absence of a box threat is making us incredibly easy to defend against this season. As the article says, if you play Zirkzee, you better have wide players cutting in to take advantage. Zirkzee + Bruno just means we vacate the CF position constantly and when we break, there’s nobody there. The next manager has to solve this first and foremost so we can start scoring again.

So the main criticism of the article seems to be that the wingers are asked to stay wide which is weird given the false 9 in Zirkzee drops deep to create space more centrally?

I am not very good at tactics and I haven’t watched Spurs at all this season (Missed the game against us as well as I couldn’t watch live and had the result spoiled to me) but it did remind me of a post over at r/FantasyPL where a user urged others to get rid of Son as Ange is asking him to do something similar.

Could someone explain to a tactic illiterate like me why it’s working for Spurs (or is it?) and not for us? What is Son’s role in Spurs if he’s being asked to hug the sideline? Is Solanke not dropping deep like Zirkzee doing?

(Yes, I am aware Son didn’t play against us)
