  1. Very happy with the result, but have to admit slight disappointment with the crowd. I was expecting a bit more in big CL match. Slightly annoying to be out-sung at home by the PSG fans who were amazing all game.

  2. Was watching the game with my mate (Tottenham fan) and he was repeatedly protesting that we’re a ” low block, park-the-bus Mourinho team”, this after literally watching us press Nuno Mendez into his own corner flag for the 10th time that half.

Some people will just hold onto their opinion matter what. Contradicting evidence is simply ignored

  3. Anyone think Merino was really good last night, i thought it was a bit risky bringing him on in this game when he hasnt kicked a ball yet for us, but really surprised

  4. Havertz equalled Jesus’ goal tally for Arsenal last night. Both on 19 now. Havertz in 60 apps, Jesus on 76. Havertz has played more minutes though.

Edit: Trossard 20 in 76. Significantly fewer minutes than the other two.

two high quality midfields on show yesterday. partey, rice, merino, neves, zaire-emery, vitinha, ruiz, all so good. they could pick one of ours at random, we could pick one of theirs at random and the player would have a strong positive impact on the rest of the season

also showed why arteta’s preference of a duel winning, physically strong midfielder vs the more nimble, silkier midfielder works. we could bully them a bit without looking off it on the ball. you need both in this day and age

the traditional approach, especially from spain has been to out technique their way to control the ball. but we have really strong physical players who also have the required level of technique. nowdays physicality is more or at least equally valued

makes me think of onana to villa and not a bigger club. thought he should have had the pick of clubs given the type of player he is. nwaneri, who’s physically strong, not just for his age, and yet very technical is a great sign, looks made for the modern game

zaire-emery, morgan rogers also the same. any more examples? of physically strong but high technique (attacking) midfielders? they’ll be going at a premium for sure

  6. Honestly can’t believe how well we’ve coped with all these injured we’ve had so far. In previous years we would have folded like origami. Proper serious development both as a team and Arteta as a manager.

  7. I was getting worried of Cala becoming nervous till the end and losing it.. anyone?

Hope his temperament stays controled, we have enough reds for this year 🤷‍♂️

Kudus at the Emirates last night was a head turner, I hope Lopetegui continues to burn that bridge and he becomes a distressed asset. He’s the kind of versatile and athletic attacker we need to bolster our squad, and he’s prem proven. His £85m release clause is off putting but we could get a cut price if they lose enough leverage.

I hope Gabi Jesus gets a good amount of minutes againts Southampton. These past games he’s been quite selfish in the final third which is unlike him. I feel the lack of minutes and goals are starting to make him desperste to make a mark.

He’s barely played this season, most of his cameos were when we are sitting deep and closing out games. We need our guys in the bench firing as well for the long season ahead.

    Routine win. Can’t complain

Expected more from psg, they were pretty lacklustre. Something in their camp seemed off

  11. Love the boy to death, but Martinelli *really* needs to rediscover his killer instinct. For all the hard work he does off the ball, his finishing has been just woeful since about the start of the year, and his delivery from the flank most often fails to beat the first man (granted, corners are nice ATM). He used to bury it far corner, or chip the keeper from close range, I’m genuinely confused how his finishing has fallen off a cliff like it has. The early signs of a good connection with Calafury are promising, but that doesn’t change the fact that he should be burying the chances he gets aside from that. You can accept the first misses, and excuse a handful more – but we’re far past the point where this is concerning. He needs to build up his finishing – Carlos Cuesta, this is your main objective for the immediate future.

Just a reminder that a few years ago Erik Ten Hag flew Timber out to the UK to tap him up to join United. Timber used this trip to meet Mikel Arteta and went on to sign for us the following summer.
