One common denominator is that their league is competitive and ours just isn’t. Until we start getting some serious competition in Scotland, Celtic will never be able to compete against their European counterparts and the gulf in quality is only widening. Sure, we might get grab a surprise result once every few years but we will never see Celtic competing in Europe until domestically we are challenged (apart from just Rangers). This will require foreign investment into the SPFL obviously.
